With Stay-at-Home orders in place, my normal nail appointment quickly became a thing of the past. With that being said, I took a giant leap of faith back into my nail kit. I'd originally been skillful with dip powders before I decided to go back to bi-weekly appointments, but with COVID-19 making its debut I realized that it would soon be time I'd have to get back in my nail bag to hold me over for a while.
The raved, highly talented @baedbyrae, had been using gel overlay on my natural nail whilst I was her regular so naturally I decided that I would stick with the same materials for my stay-at-home application. This is when I begin doing some small research on products. I am absolutely in love with the Young Nails [YN] brand, and after some careful consideration have come to the conclusion that they just have superior products all around. You can even purchase their products on Amazon for a faster delivery time and better convenience. Although originally, I'd placed an online order with Sally's Beauty supply for an IBD clear sculpting gel. After weeks of waiting for Sally's to ship out my product, I'd grown impatient and found Young Nails' clear sculpting gel and bonder available for Prime delivery on Amazon and ended up going that route. Amazon ended up being the sole marketplace used for most of my nail supplies!
Here are the supply details:
Approximate Nail Supply Total: $150

YOUNG NAILS [YN] HARD GEL SCHOOL
How do I know which hard gel to buy?
This was literally one of the FIRST questions I'd asked myself when trying to decipher between which of the gels I needed to buy. This video below makes things super easy to understand. Just remember there are two kinds of hard gel: Leveling and Non-leveling. I keep both kinds on stock, but ultimately use them interchangeably depending on the mood I'm in. Due to me working on myself though, I tend to prefer the self-leveling material especially if I'm in sort of a hurry. It makes things very easy to work with when creating your foundation for the perfect shaped nail. Recently, I've added the Young Nails Gel Kit to my collection of materials and find it to be one of the best kits for beginners at such a good value.
